Christian Caregiver Conference

In 2008 we were the first church in the nation (that we know of) to  provide a free day of education/training for caregivers.  We held our first  Christian Caregiver Conference – an all day, free training conference to help caregivers take care of themselves and to learn about caring for someone with a dementia illness, such as Alzheimer’s, Stroke, Parkinson’s or any of the many other illnesses which have dementia symptoms.    A free lunch was provided for attendees.  We had Bill and Lyn Roche from Florida here to teach their Breath of Fresh Air program – and Teepa Snow who taught her Positive Approach methods of care.  Conferences were held in 2009, and 2010 with Teepa Snow teaching for the full day.   Future conferences will be planned.
